about Angels & Airwaves
Angels & Airwaves is an American rock band led by Blink-182 guitarist/vocalist Tom Delonge. The supergroup also includes guitarist David Kennedy, notably from Over My Dead Body, Hazen Street and Box Car Racer, and bassist Matt Wachter from 30 Seconds to Mars, who replaced Ryan Sinn, from The Distillers, in 2007. The band's original drummer Adam Willard left the band in fall 2011.
The group has been described by Delonge as more than a band but more accurately "an art project [that approaches] larger human themes and tackles them in different mediums", or simply "a multimedia project".[1] This has been seen in the group's films, live events, and novel approach to fan-artist interaction.[2]
The group has released three studio albums thus far: We Don't Need to Whisper (2006), I-Empire (2007) and Love (2010) with fourth Love: Part Two to be released on November 11, 2011. The project also resulted in a documentary Start the Machine (2008). In 2011, the group released the sci-fi movie Love, directed by William Eubank, in 500 theatres nationwide during their multimedia event, l☽ve live. Tom Delonge has said in an interview that the band is working on two new films with two studio albums.[3]
